Nose: Loads of fresh malted barley, milk arrowroot biscuits, along with apple & honey porridge come first up. Then comes the peat - strangely medicinal for an Octomore. There's also hints of wood shavings, and a faint eucalyptus note. Palate: Raw malty spirit, smokey tea, lemon sponge cake, and soggy hay. Loads of smoke - perhaps a little more ashy and tarry than is normal for Octomore. Mouthfeel: Thick and chewy - it coats your mouth and just stays there. Finish: Long, dry, and smokey. The more medicinal notes return, along with a lingering saltiness. The Octomore of Octomore. The…

Nose:  Burnt sugar, raisins, dried red berries, vanilla, and burnt fruit cake. Palate:  Both sweet and sour.  Pretty much the same as the nose - definitely heavy on the berries and vanilla.  Also quite a solid malty creaminess enveloping the other flavours. Mouthfeel:  Mid-heavy weight, dry, creamy, with an alcoholic tingle right on the tip of the tongue. Finish:  Pretty long.  Some heat from the higher than average alcohol.  Not as sweet as the palate - some dried cake at the back of the throat.  The finish doesn't last a long time, but the impression the whisky leaves behind lasts…

Nose:  Creamy caramel fudge, vanilla sponge cake with a dusting of icing sugar, uncooked cookie dough, fresh malt, and lemon lollies.  Also a slight note of what you get at the back of your nose when you get dumped by the surf.  Quite the summer holiday at the beach on the nose of this one.  Barely any peat coming though, despite knowing full well what is in the glass. Palate:  Both peat and caramel hit first - quite a soft and sweet peat; trundling alongside a rich dark caramel toffee.  There's also some buttercake drizzled with honey, a bit of…

Nose:  Sweet and creamy malted barley, some fresh citrus, and a trace of regular Bruichladdich floral notes.  The nose of this whisky is very similar to the 2006 Dunlossit Farm, but softer and more subdued.  The slightest hint of creamed honey is also present in the nose. Palate:  Similar to most Laddies, creamy malt is the predominant flavour on the palate of this whisky.  Some green apple and lemon peel are also present - as are traces of vanilla pods, cinnamon, and creamed honey.  Also the smallest trace of ginger right at the back trying to hide but not quite…

Nose:  Malted barley is fully present - rich and creamy.  Some slight floral notes that are so very Bruichladdich, and the slightest waft of a sea breeze - but predominantly creamy sweet malted barley. Palate:  Quite a complex beast this one - so many flavours bumping into each other, yet not fighting each other at all.  There's loads and loads of malt everywhere; clean and crisp, yet creamy and sweet without being cloying.  Some winter fruits - green apple peel and some juicy pear.  The smallest dash of honey, some light citrus notes, and the smallest pinch of ginger almost…
